Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you connect financial accounts via Plaid, Cedarwise accesses your account balances, transaction history, and investment holdings. This data is used solely to display your financial overview within the app.

We also collect your email address and optional display name for account authentication.

If product analytics are enabled (on by default; you can opt out at any time in Profile → Anonymous Analytics), Cedarwise collects anonymous usage events such as which screens you view, which features you use, and basic device info (platform, OS version, app version). These events are identified only by a randomly-generated device ID. We never send your email, account ID, financial amounts, balances, or transaction details to our analytics provider.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your financial data is displayed only to you. Cedarwise does not share, sell, or transmit your data to third parties for marketing, advertising, or any purpose other than providing the service.

AI-generated reports are processed entirely on your device using a local language model. Your financial data is never sent to external AI services.

3. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored on encrypted servers (AWS with AES-256 encryption at rest). All communication uses TLS 1.2+. Sensitive data on your device is stored in the iOS Keychain.

Plaid access tokens are stored server-side only and are never transmitted to your device.

4. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can disconnect individual financial accounts at any time, which stops future data syncs. Deleting your Cedarwise account permanently removes all associated data.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to access, export, and delete your data at any time. Contact support@cedarwise.ai for data requests.

6. Third-Party Services

Cedarwise uses Plaid to connect to your financial institutions. Plaid's privacy policy governs how they handle data during the connection process. We also use Supabase for secure data storage, RevenueCat for subscription management, and Mixpanel for anonymous product analytics. Mixpanel only receives the data described in Section 1 — never your email, account identifiers, or financial information. You can disable analytics at any time in Profile → Anonymous Analytics.

7. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification before they take effect.
